Simon Butikofer, M.D.

Simon is a board-certified urologist and Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) with more than 15 years of experience spanning academic medicine and the biopharmaceutical industry. Prior to Janux, Simon served as Clinical Research Medical Director in Prostate Cancer/Genitourinary Oncology at Amgen, where he contributed to global clinical development strategy and led the design and execution of clinical studies across Phases 1–3, including pivotal programs in prostate cancer. Prior to Amgen, Simon held global medical affairs leadership roles at Bayer, supporting Phase 3 programs and real-world evidence initiatives in prostate cancer. Earlier in his career, he served as Medical Advisor and Senior Medical Advisor at Pfizer. Simon began his career in academic medicine in Switzerland, where he held senior physician roles in urology and led a genitourinary tumor board. He brings deep expertise in clinical trial design, evidence generation, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.

Simon earned his M.D. from the University of Bern and completed additional training in clinical drug development at Harvard Medical School.
