Gregory Opiteck, Ph.D.

Vice President, Translational Medicine

Greg leads Translational Medicine at Janux Therapeutics, with a focus on early clinical development, including proof-of-biology, proof-of-mechanism, and proof-of-concept as key milestones on the path to market authorization. He works across disciplines to align clinical safety and efficacy data, pharmacology, and patient selection biomarkers into clear development paths that inform dose, inclusion/exclusion, and overall asset probability of success. Greg and his team are establishing the systems, processes, and data analysis infrastructure needed to scale the organization towards registrational development. His approach emphasizes presenting data in near-real-time, decision-ready frameworks that support both rapid institutional learning and scientific rigor.

Greg has built his career across large pharmaceutical and innovative biotechnology companies, spanning global multi-billion-dollar corporations to early-stage Series A start-ups. His experience ranges from target identification through early clinical development to Phase IV lifecycle management. He is known and respected for bringing a strategic, execution-focused mindset and a sharp focus on solving the most critical challenges facing an asset or organization.

Greg earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his B.Sc. with honors from the University of Notre Dame.
