Neil W. Gibson, Ph.D.

Neil brings more than 30 years of drug development experience and has contributed to the successful discovery, development, and commercialization of four approved oncology products, including temozolomide, sorafenib, erlotinib, and crizotinib. He has also played a key role in the creation and growth of multiple biotechnology companies and capital formation activities.

Most recently, Neil served as Senior Vice President at COI Pharmaceuticals from 2016 to 2021, where he focused on the creation and advancement of new biotechnology companies developing innovative therapeutics in areas of high unmet medical need. In this role, he served as Chief Executive Officer of PDI Therapeutics and Adanate, and as Chief Scientific Officer of Silarus Therapeutics. His responsibilities included leading IND-enabling activities and designing early clinical development strategies for lead programs. Earlier in his career, Neil served as Chief Scientific Officer at Regulus Therapeutics and, prior to that, as Chief Scientific Officer of the Pfizer Oncology Research Unit. He also held leadership roles on Pfizer’s Oncology Business Unit Executive Team and the global leadership team of Pfizer’s Pharmatherapeutics organization. In addition, he served as Chief Scientific Officer of OSI Pharmaceuticals and as Director of Bayer Oncology. Neil currently serves on the boards of Instil Bio, Shattuck Laboratories, and Causeway Therapeutics.
