Alessandra Cesano, M.D., Ph.D.

Alessandra brings over two decades of leadership in oncology and biotechnology. She currently serves on the boards of Puma Biotechnology, Summit Therapeutics, Zymeworks, and Tolremo Therapeutics, and is an advisor for General Catalyst. Most recently, Alessandra was Chief Medical Officer at ESSA Pharmaceuticals, following similar roles at NanoString Technologies and other leading biotech companies. Her career includes clinical positions at Biogen Idec, where she served as Vice President of Oncology, and Amgen, contributing to the advancement of innovative cancer therapies.

Alessandra earned her M.D., summa cum laude, and a Ph.D. in Tumor Immunology from the University of Turin in Italy. She also received a board certification in oncology. Her academic foundation in cancer biology and immunology has underpinned her extensive career in translational medicine and clinical development.
